I remember seeing someone post when a CPAP machine should be replaced, but I couldn't find it with the search function.
What is the recommendation for when a CPAP machine should be replaced?
I'm currently on 9,971 hours. :O

Five years is the most often cited replacement period. If you don't have a backup machine, get a new machine now and keep the older one as a backup.

Re: Total Hours of Machine Use Before Replacement
At 5 years, my run hours were about 17,000.
The machine was making a little bit more noise than when it was new,
and not all data was being recorded.
Of course, your mileage may vary--YMMV.

Mine was purchased in 2016. Unfortunately, my work schedule allows me about 4-6 hours/sleep at night... usually more like 4.5.

Re: Total Hours of Machine Use Before Replacement
Most insurance companies have taken the same approach as Medicare on machine replacement. They will only replace a machine when it breaks and the cost to repair is too high. If you are not using insurance to purchase your machine, now is a good time to purchase a new one. Both ResMed and Philips have been offering machines at drastically lowered prices. Philips has already release their new model and is trying to move the old ones out. ResMed and announced they are bringing out a new machine, but has not given a firm release date. However, a few of these new machines are evidently being marketed in select areas.

Re: Total Hours of Machine Use Before Replacement
I'm such a sucker for technology that I will probably wait for the AS11. It's very tempting to get the AS10 at nearly half off though.
Unfortunately, I'm paying for it myself pretty much. Haven't met my deductible yet and I'm having difficulty finding an in-network DME supplier who sells CPAP equipment.
