Hi,
Recently bought an F30i mask for my ResMed AirSense 10.
I have noticed a large amount of air coming out of the small holes at the top of the mask (near the hose connection) and the front of the mouth-piece. No leaks around the pad.
I could hold my hand out at arms length and still feel the air blowing on to my hand. Is it normal for this much air to be venting from the mask? Not sure if something is wrong, my previous mask F20 had almost no air come out of the vents.
F30i - Lots of air escaping from front and top of mask
Re: F30i - Lots of air escaping from front and top of mask
The air escaping is the CO2 exhaust...All masks have it. It's normal.

The vents are 'exhaling' your CO2 and need to be kept open and free of e.g. bedding covering them (you don't want to rebreathe CO2).
Re: F30i - Lots of air escaping from front and top of mask
If you are talking about the hose connection at the very top, that is completely normal and supposed to be doing that. Those are the exhaust ports, if you look carefully at the hose end, there’s a whole set of tiny holes in the elbow. I originally had a DreamWear mask which is the Philips version of the F30i and it was the same way, I’ve also tried the F30i before setting on the F30 and the air stream coming off the top hose connection is normal.
There are exhale ports on the mask itself too, I think they are called anti asphyxia ports and air coming out those is normal too.
Now leaks around your nose and mouth on the seal, THAT isn’t normal.

Re: F30i - Lots of air escaping from front and top of mask
All masks have vents, it's required to vent CO2.
Different masks have different amounts of diffusing of the vented air/CO2, which is why its noticable on some masks and not others.
Your F20 used a the ResMed QuietAir elbow, which had a lot of tiny holes for venting so it was barely noticeable. Your F30i has a few large holes so it's noticeable.
