Preferred DME for Aetna?

Post by brettgoulder » Wed Aug 25, 2021 5:38 pm

I'm looking at the Aetna DME Provider list and was curious if someone has a recommendation for which DME to go with. Or atleast any I should strictly avoid?

Here are my choices:
  • American Home Patient
  • Apria
  • Lincare
  • Medline Industries
  • Rotech
  • US Medical Supply
Best regards
Brett

Is this regular insurance or a Medicare supplement?
The online list may not apply to your exact policy, or be up to date.
Get the hard copy from your benefits manager--
Or if a medicare supplement, go straight to the Medicare site.
FYI, Lincare and Apria have derogatory nicknames on this forum, very bad experience.

if someone has a recommendation for which DME to go with.
If you have a sleep doc, ask the respiratory tech if they work with a good DME. Also, search for local internet reviews.

American Home Patient was gobbled up by Lincare = stay away
Apria = stay away
Rotech = stay away

I think I would call Aetna and ask for one in your area if you think you need the help locally.
If not ask them if Verus Healthcare is in network - they are mail order only afaik

Or you can call Verus and ask them if they accept your insurance.
