resmed or ruby chin strap

Post by onward60 » Wed Sep 29, 2021 9:08 am

Does anyone have advice about a style of chin strap? My DME carries those 2 types. I'm not actually sure at this point, but I may be trying it with the F20 or the N20.

a chin strap will not stop your lips/mouth from coming open when you sleep rendering it ineffective. try something homemade before wasting money on something that's not going to work

I've used Ruby and Philips Respironics chin straps (but not ResMed). I prefer the Ruby as I find it more stable as it stays in place the whole night without needing to adjust it at night. I am a mouth breather and the Ruby chin strap seem to be most effective in preventing drying out my mouth at night. I've tried Transpore tape, Chin-up Strips, Somnifix, which seem to be less effective. I also tried 3 types of full face masks but that didn't prevent my mouth breathing. FYI I use a P10 nasal pillow.
