Resmed Airsense 10, turn on "events per hour" in report menu?

In Aus, using a Resmed 10 airsense autoset, with the special heated tube and humidity basked, and airfit F20 mask. I also have a FnP Nasal Pillows Mask, but havnt tried that yet. I tried to submit all this on my profile but it wont stick?

Ive been assigned a machine which I know how to get into the clinicians menu etc, but in the basic report menu "events per hour" is not shown on the front screen, not sure if thats something I can add for ease of knowing how well I did that night?.

Ive been using the machine for a few days. But this morning I was waking up choking (I have sleep paralysis sometimes, it felt similar like a dream and Im choking in a semi awake/asleep dream), I think due to leak of 65l/min and ramping pressure to 14 to accomodate the leak but I couldnt breath.

I was assigned a machine years ago but was not able to comply etc despite only having mild obst and central apnea. But Im much more motivated now as Ive put a lot more weight on. Have downloaded Oscar etc and will read the card. Im not sure if its enabled to send data to the cloud yet or not, not sure how to figure that out.

Over the 2 days in the clinician report Menu its saying

Events per hour: 8.1
AHI: 4.3
Total AI: 3.5
Central AI: 3.5

Go into the clinical menu set up area and look for a menu item called "Essentials"
change it from "on" to "plus" and you can see the details from the night before on the sleep report you can see at a glance on the face of the LCD screen when you turn the machine off in the morning.

You've already downloaded Oscar -- that's excellent. Not sure what the reference to the cloud means, but just wanted to go over a few points. The SD card in your machine records your data for the night. To get the data into the Oscar software, you need an SD card reader. If there's a slot in your computer, great, put the card in that. If there isn't, get a cheapo card reader that can plug into a USB port on your computer and put the card in the reader. Then just follow the Oscar instructions for downloading your data from your SD card into the program.

Anyway, yep downloaded Oscar 32bit, I presume 32bit should run on a 64bit OS, where 64 bit wont run on a 32bit machine......?

Found the card the first day I got it. The machine doesnt say anything about having a sim card etc, but the paper work from the Sleep nurse says something about viewing my data on the ResMed Airview? Dont know how that would work given I havnt entered any wifi information.

Im a stomach sleeper and Im finding the F20 quite bulky, they gave me a large which I thought would be suitable given Im 6ft. It feels like its pressing on my orbital area, not eyeballs as such but the puffy area just under. How do you know exactly what is a good fit? And is there a mask that is known to be more suitable for stomach sleepers?

I think the 2nd night what happened is, I rolled to 3/4 stomach position and the mask must have had a major leak and it then pumped out 15, when my therapy seems to be best between 8 and 9, so it must have sealed and the sudden shock from 6-15 had me choking. I will get into Oscar just to confirm that.

Also, does anybody else use the exhale relief function? This f20 mask doesnt seem to need it as much as when I exhale against even 10 it allows some relief, where the FnP nasal mask doesnt do the same. I use to think bipap was the answer, Im not so sure I need it now this f20 mask allows me to breath out, problem is its very hard to use when on my stomach.

Overall, whilst quite exhausted, I have more hope for compliance than I did 15 years ago.

Can I just have some basic non advise but general knowledge on what is a bad AHI and API?

Last night it said I had an (events) ahi per hour of 0.9 but AHI of 3.2. I presume the first is the average and the 2nd is the total?

Total AI:2.3 Central AI: 2.3. Bit confused by this, clearly Central Apnea made up the total AI?

I need to get my understanding of AHI nd AI together haha.

Can’t help with the AHI advice, but lots of very smart folks here that can. Like you I am a stomach sleeper using an F20 for about 7 months, but I’m 6’2” and use a medium F20. If you have a printer you can print out the F20 sizing guide to get an idea of what size is right.

Ok sounds like I should have gone with their recommendation which was a medium . I don't have a printer, but the fact you have a medium and are 2" taller and that its pressing on my orbitals, not a good sign. I will look at that PDF though. Thank you, you guys and gals are an awesome community.

Thank you, just started reading it before, found it on the net. Good to know why my equip profile is missing. This ClimateLineAirOxy thing sounds quite technical. Wow things have come a long way in 15 years.

RE Exhale Relief, Im undecided as the F20 seems to provide relief in the mask itself. I guess it cant hurt to try? It was the main reason I could not comply 15 years ago, trying to exhale against 10 etc when you are a very light breather in and out when asleep was very hard

Falcon position, I feel like a super hero hehe.

Im not so sure about Climate Control, I know this pipe and humidifier are very smart, should I try just on Auto, but is there anything signifcant I should try to take advantage of?

I left the Air at 27C last night but turned the humidifier down 1 notch and its still half full, unlike the prior night where 1 night it was almost empty.

There are two separate data paths in the machine. The SD card records highly detailed information which you can view using Oscar. There is also a sim card (my machine has a Vodaphone 4G) which will automatically upload a subset of your data to Resmed's server ("the cloud"). From there it can be interrogated by your doctor / therapist. And a cut-down version of the data is available to you via the MyAir app on your phone. I've never bothered with MyAir as the feedback is pretty negative and Oscar does more than I need. I don't know what the procedure is to get MyAir running but your therapist should be able to guide you.

By the way, the machine doesn't make use of your wifi: the SD card is obviously a physical item and the sim card connects via the mobile phone system.

i sleep prone as well, though i've just started doing it the beginning of the year. i wear the P10 pillow mask and it works a treat with the falcon position.

Strangely they gave me a FnP Brevida Nasal Pillows, which looks very very similar to the p10, not sure why they didnt give me a p10, I guess its just how my local sleep clinic rolls hehe.

My only concern is I occasionally leak fluid from my mouth, I did into my f20 but only last night, so I must do it time to time, will the pressure adjust for a slight leak out the corner of my mouth etc? I remember when I first started they made me tie a panty hose around my head with nasal pillows. But these newer ones seem to pull things tighter.

I wish I had an Oximeter, to have seen how bad my occasional central apneas were effecting me.

Does anyone else suffer sleep paralysis? (you know you are asleep but awake enough to know that, even worse when its combined with an apnea, truly frightning), I think thats what caused my machine to hit 20 and eventually woke me on my 2nd night.

Much appreciated. Is there a "suggested" acceptable level for AHI? Mine last night was 0.8....

I know what central apnea is, but what does AI (not AHI) stand for?

Yes, this is what the reception bars are, I thought it was wifi haha. Spoke to sleep clinic and they have not got mine setup yet as I have to ask them to do so. Im kind of ok with where I am at for now, but they told me no personal info is uploaded, they keep that manually seperate, it is essentially just a machine ID which they know is attached to a patient file etc. Im sure other clinic operate differently.
