Re: Tube cleaning
I use Dawn dish soap. Put a few drops of soap and warm water in a dish soak tub, drop in the hose, let it soak for a while, take it out and rinse it, then hang it up to dry. It doesn’t have to be completely dry before using.

There is no right or wrong side of the road. There is only the road.
Re: Tube cleaning
What are you trying to clean? Nothing but your filtered room air is going through it.

Re: Tube cleaning
I believe the majority of us don't ever bother with the hoses, or if they do it would only be after long intervals or if they saw 'something' in the hose. I would find other things to worry about.

Re: Tube cleaning
I no longer clean my hoses as often as I did when I was new with CPAP. Now I wash them about once every 3 months (if I remember).
When I did wash my hoses, I would use an unscented baby wash soak as indicated above.

Re: Tube cleaning
I happen to use Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo. Dawn is cheaper, widely used, and probably does the job just fine.

I use Care Touch CPAP Neutralizing Solution. Absolutely no scent and no residue.
Baby shampoo left behind a scent that I could not tolerate.

Re: Tube cleaning
I soak everything, tubing (both mask and cpap), pillow, and water reservoir once a week (today is the day) in a ~20% solution of white vinegar and warm water. I leave the whole works soak for a couple of hours. I then rinse the water reservoir with distilled water and everything else with plain water. I then put everything out to dry and I hang the hoses up to dry.
YMMV

I am NOT affiliated with Care Touch! I am just a regular nice person who has struggled and succeeded in adapting to CPAP/ASV and who has searched for and found a product that works well for me in cleaning my headgear and mask. And yes, I do actually clean my hose every few weeks because that's what I want to do. I am sensitive to scent and this product does exactly what I need it to do.

Re: Tube cleaning
I bought the bottle in December 2020 for $10.99. I still have half of the bottle left. It only takes 1/2 tablespoon per basin of water, so it lasts a really long time.by zonker » Sun Oct 31, 2021 5:08 pm

that's a cost i don't care to have. i don't clean the tube. i think i did once when i was brand new.
not saying YOU shouldn't. just putting it out there for others who might think it's necessary.
