Airsense 11 filter

Post by jacobm111 » Sun Nov 07, 2021 10:50 pm

I have spent an hour trying to find the Resmed Airsense 11 filters online and they all say for older models. I’ve tried googling to see if a 10 filter fits an 11, with nothing. Can anyone advise if the filter for the model 10 fits the 11 or where you got your filters?

Thanks

The S9, Air10 and Air11 filters look the same to me.

welcome to the zoo.

amazon says the filter dimensions for the airsense 10 is 2 1/8 X 1 7/16.

does that measurement match your airsense 11?

but that's enough about them.

Filters for the AS 11 are 2-1/32" x 15/16" (about 51mm x 24mm) as near as I can measure with calipers.

I was able to find some of the Resmed brand "Standard" Air 11 filters (#39300, 1-pack) at an online supplier. I threw them away. They are not even close in density and thickness to the filter which came pre-installed in my Airsense 11. They might keep an elephant from getting into the machine, but not much else.

Resmed also lists a "Hypoallergenic Ultrafine" filter for the Air 11 (#39304 qty1, #39305 qty 2). I *suspect* (but cannot confirm) that is what came pre-installed in my Airsense 11. I can't find any online suppliers who have these yet, and my DME -- the one who issued me the AS11 on 9/23 -- says the filters are "still on backorder from the manufacturer."

I did find an online supplier selling a 3rd party version of the "Hypoallergenic Ultrafine". They fit correctly, and that's what I'm using now. The brand name is "AeroFlow" (p/n CF-39304-1), which I purchased from cpapsupplies.com web site. They still don't look quite as dense or thick as the filter which came with my Airsense 11, but they are much closer than the Resmed "Standard" filters.

The CPAP is taking your room air....the air you breath all day long.....and filters it before entering the machine. How dirty is your room air?

thanks for that. nowhere near the 10, then.

(not that i'm likely to remember it.)

Thank you everyone for your replies. I truly appreciate it being new to cpap and given this expensive machine, I just want to take care of it.

I hear you on the filters room air. We change our hvac filters monthly, but we also live in new construction so may be extra dirty. Not sure

A regular filter is about 2.1 x 1.25.

so you could use a regular filter in the 11, you might want to trim it.

I have disassembled and cleaned a few pap machines from “clean” homes. Take a look at pap blower blades and internal passages after a couple thousand run hours. The buildup of dirt and particulate is significant, often disgusting, even with a filter! Ask anyone who has disassembled one.

The human respiratory tract has multiple mechanisms for not only filtering air, but for constantly cleaning itself by encapsulating and ultimately expelling normal particulates. The pap machine has only its filter to keep its insides free of buildup.

So I don’t see the intake filters as primarily for the human at the end of the hose. I see them keeping the machine passages, blades, and sensor ports clean and working correctly for as long as possible. Filters are cheap, pap machines are not.
