Luna II: COLD AIR?
Luna II: COLD AIR?
I bought Luna II Auto CPAP Machine with Mask Bundle.
It works fine and I am happy because I can sleep well.
However, it is winter here and I suffered from the cold air.
It makes my nose aches.
The specification said that the machine includes the heated humidifier.
Does it mean the machine can produce not only wet but also warm?
Can I adjust the temparature of the air? (If so, how?)
Or else, should I buy the heat air pipe?
If so, which product do you recommend?
Thanks.

Re: Luna II: COLD AIR?
G'day Chihiro, welcome to the forum.
Reading the user manual for your machine, https://3bproducts.com/assets/uploads/2 ... V1.0-1.pdf it looks like you have five humidity settings, but no temperature control. It states that the temperature is fixed. There doesn't seem to be a heated hose for this machine either, but you might want to check with your distributor. Non-heated hoses are interchangeable, but heated hoses only work with the specific machine they are designed for - in other words, if there isn't a heated hose specifically for the Luna II, then you won't be able to use a hose from another machine.
One suggestion is to use a tube cover - a fabric sleeve which goes over the tube and keeps it insulated. https://www.amazon.com.au/Snuggle-Skins ... B007BUOINM

Re: Luna II: COLD AIR?
The Hybernite heated hose is made to work with nearly any cpap machine.
As expected, it is a bit spendy . . .

Re: Luna II: COLD AIR?
If the Luna machines don't offer a heated hose integrated into the machine then a stand alone heated hose is a viable option.
I used the Hybernite heated hose years ago before ResMed and Respironics came out with their heated hoses.
It will solve the cold air problem and do a good job preventing condensation as well.

Re: Luna II: COLD AIR?
I had completely forgotten about Hybernite tubes - I'm surprised they still make them. But I checked a few sites, and they are indeed on sale at a few places, but out of stock in many.

Re: Luna II: COLD AIR?
Yeah, back when I first started cpap (pre integrated heated hose days) the only heated hose was the Aussie heated hose.Respirator99 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 7:09 pmI had completely forgotten about Hybernite tubes - I'm surprised they still make them. Talk about sticker shock....$150 US.
Then there were some others like the Hybernite which I eventually got since it was about half the cost of the Aussie hose.
They are still available but like you said...sometimes a bit hard to find. They do work but you for sure don't want to put any part of the hose under the covers or put a cozy on the hose...gets way too warm.

Re: Luna II: COLD AIR?
You could throw together a hose cover from fleece, knee socks,
or even Mylar. (If you can stand the crinkle)

Re: Luna II: COLD AIR?
Thank you every one for your reply!
Now I understand that I can only use stand alone heated pipe powered by the different electricity.
I have bought CPAP and the supplies only from cpap.com so I want to buy it from here as well.
I found some products like:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/comfor ... tubing-kit
But unfortunately it is out of stock.
(I will ask them to stock it again)
And now I know there are some fabric tube cover!
I will try to buy it.
Thanks again.
