Which CPAP Supplier Should I use with insurance?

Post by SleepyCPAP » Mon Apr 25, 2022 7:37 am

Hi all,
I've hit my deductible for insurance. That's rare, so I'd like to get my CPAP supplies paid-for rather than me continuing to pay out of pocket this year.

I use a Bleep mask, and ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto. I also usually have a Swift FX or AirFit P10 on hand. I figure the ResMed masks and humidifier/hoses are easy, but maybe not Bleep Dreamports.

A local shop just became AeroCare, and I don't know if that means good or bad.

Which suppliers are good, bad, indifferent. I don't need any interaction, I don't need customer service, just supplies now and then.

AeroCare isn't the same as AeroFLow but people mistake them for being the same.
I ran across a comment on the Bleep forum about AeroCare...and it wasn't good at all.

Now AeroFlow is supposed to work with insurance and supply the Bleep product. I have no idea who/what insurance they will work with but might be worth a call.
Contact Aeroflow and their Sleep Onboarding Team at 800-480-5491 ext 4022 to speak to a customer service agent about having your insurance benefits verified for coverage.
scroll down just a little bit.

Contact your insurance for a list of their network suppliers of cpap equipment.
Do not rule out a road trip for better service.
Then contact those to determine which ones will supply
the particular supplies you need.
Sometimes, even the bad ones may have a good location--somewhere.
Good luck!

@Sleepy,
I certainly agree to contact and ask any DMEs you are interested in.
A word of warning - have a backup plan.

I remember when I was DX'd for a BiPap - I called AHP (American Home Patient) to ask them if they could supply the equipment I wanted - of course they said yes. So I had the doc send the order to them when suddenly they wanted to sell me another brand that I specifically told them I did NOT want - citing it was that the order didn't specify my brand - but it did not specify their brand either..

Well after 5 weeks & 5 attempts at getting what I wanted failed I went to A-P-r-I-A on week 4, they got it for me in 1 week, prob cuz I told them what was going on and I would take it from whoever came thru first.

It took another 3 weeks for AHP to call and say my equipment was in, ha too late.
When they asked where I got it - I said it really doesn't matter - I'm all set.

Then they were bought out by Lincare - a perfect match.

When you don't need anyone that comes to the house you are likely better off with an online supplier.
