I tried to search this out and found an old COVID cleaning thread from 2020 that reflects 2020. I wanted to see if there is anything new in 2022 and after a couple of more years of experience with the virus.
I just tested negative after 18 days (Paxlovid rebound) and want to cleanup my CPAP equipment. I washed the heated tube with warm, soapy water. AFAIK soap and water will kill the virus for the most part. I replaced my mask, washed the headgear attachments, replaced the water chamber and changed the filter. I also ordered a new heated tube (should have done it earlier).
Is there any way to clean or sterilize the insides of the machine at home? I know the ozone / UV cleaners are widely disparaged and can damage the foam. I'm also wondering how a hospital Biomed department would approach this?
Cleaning CPAP Post COVID
Re: Cleaning CPAP Post COVID
Hi - hope you feel better now!
Don't worry about inside the machine - there's nothing there that would be affected anyhow by anything, never mind Covid, plus Covid doesn't last on surfaces for more than a very short time, let alone days, weeks, etc.... so relax and forget it (and keep on not using SC)!

A hospital would likely do the usual--I presume change the filter and hose,
wash tank thoroughly, and wipe down the exterior with alcohol.
Having recovered, you are no longer susceptible to that strain.
and viruses only live on surfaces a few hours at most.
Relax.
Wash your hands, launder your bedding, get your boosters.
Life is too short to live in fear.

Not only is there no practical way, there's no need.
