Snorelab, Sleep apnea?

Post by AndyE » Wed Jul 27, 2022 6:16 am

Hi, I'm currently waiting for my study results, so downloaded the Snorelab app yesterday. This is what I was greeted with this morning..
Snore all night long, excessive day time tiredness, head fog, headache, fall asleep every time I sit down.
I know the app cannot be used to diagnose apnea, but how does this look?

Thanks

Curious if you've ever tried not back-sleeping? It can push your snore scores way up, whether or not you have apnea.

looks like you snore.

with the other symptoms, looks like you have sleep apnea.

and that's all we can really tell.

This is highly suggestive of sleep apnea, so you won't likely be surprised by your actual sleep study results. The sleep study will tell you the severity.

This is a good time to start educating yourself on your insurance coverage for the CPAP machine, what Durable Medical Equipment providers you can use, what your out of pocket expenses will be, what machine you would like (hint: ResMed 10 Autoset or ResMed 11 Autoset), start looking at various types of masks. Go back to get your results as an informed consumer patient.

In addition to waiting for your study results, there will probably be a waiting period to get your machine. Waiting period due to supply vs demand and made worse by the Phillips Respironics world recall of certain DreamStation machines. I suggest you use your waiting time to educate yourself about sleep apnea and the OSCAR software. There is a lot to learn and it will take some time and effort but is very worthwhile. See the top of the page for links called "New Users" and "CPAP Wiki." Then go to the CPAP Talk main page "announcements" section and read that information. Then download and install the OSCAR software. When you get a machine, be sure it is the ResMed brand; accept none other no matter what anybody says.
