Flying to Mexico with distilled water and cpap machine
Hi Al, I know in the US I can fly with carry-on baggage and carry more than 100 mL of distilled water as a medical supply along with my CPAP machine. Does anyone know what the rules are about flying into Mexico with distilled water and a CPAP machines ad carry-on? Can I carry more than 100 mL of distilled water as a medical supply to Mexico? Thanks.

Just use local bottled water.

Just use tap water or buy bottled water. It's not going to cause any problems. See viewtopic/t171314/Sticky--Distilled-Wat ... water.htmlblakesq wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 6:51 amHi Al, I know in the US I can fly with carry-on baggage and carry more than 100 mL of distilled water as a medical supply along with my CPAP machine. Yes, a cpap bag is a medical bag and does not count against the carry-on limit.
Re: Flying to Mexico with distilled water and cpap machine
Those rules all apply when the flight originates or terminates at a US airport. So you are good. They are there for a reason.blakesq wrote: ↑Tue Aug 16, 2022 6:51 amHi Al, I know in the US I can fly with carry-on baggage and carry more than 100 mL of distilled water as a medical supply along with my CPAP machine. You can pay $4/bottle for bottled water or bring distilled w/you, your call.

The ADA rules apply to all flight originating or terminating in the US. That even includes connecting flights.
Unless you booked internal Mexican flights separately, you don't have a problem (and I don't think you'd have one even in that case).
Mexico has the same electrical sockets and voltage as the U.S., so no adapters are needed.
You might want to pack an extension cord in case the electricity is not near the bed.
You can use any potable water in your tank. Just clean it when you get back. Also, I suggest that you not use carbonated, flavored, or colored water.

If the tap water smells strongly of chlorine, you might want to stick with bottled water.

chocolate milk? Really? Lol
I don’t think I would want to use the water in Mexico.
I fill mine up with about 2/3 of a cup every night. That’s my standard and I usually have a little bit left over in the bottom so I don’t run it dry.
Assuming that you only need to bring enough for your trip, see how much you typically use every night and multiply it by however many days you planned to be on vacation.
Maybe if it’s not too cumbersome you can get by.
Maybe you can set it on a lower humidity setting?

Re: Flying to Mexico with distilled water and cpap machine
I've been called out on this before. However, think about it. Would you want to put carbonated, flavored, or colored water in your tank?
Re: Flying to Mexico with distilled water and cpap machine
WHY would it matter?
Any CO2 in the water's going to offgas quickly. Color would be left behind, flavor might, depending on what makes it, give you an aroma that the person would either like, or they'd dump out the water.
But, more importantly, why would anybody (except you) be dumb enough to put any of those things in the tank?

Or even tap water.
I might like the chocolate milk tho.
But $4 bottled water always makes me feel lighter I mean better.

How frequently do you interact with teenagers? ...because I can almost guarantee at least a few have tried/will try all of those options at some point. But, more importantly, why would anybody (except you) be dumb enough to put any of those things in the tank?

Upon learning that Vicks Vapo-Rub works on athlete's foot,
I mused out loud that it's the same fungus that causes jock itch.
Suddenly, I heard a scream from the bathroom . . .
You don't have to be "special" to try something--even if it's stupid.
