Snoring on my back with CPAP
Snoring on my back with CPAP
I've been on a CPAP since 2016 but recently my wife tells me I am snoring again (on my back only). Any suggestions on what to do? See below results. To be honest I am not really sure what I am looking at so some advice would be appreciated. If there is any other data I can provide please let me know.

Re: Snoring on my back with CPAP
I would start by increasing your minimum pressure to 10.

Is there a reason you can't sleep on your side (with tricks to help you stay there when asleep that we can help with)?

Re: Snoring on my back with CPAP
Your minimum pressure is *way* too low.
Immediately after falling asleep your pressure shoots upward. I'd start by setting it to 11 or 12.

Re: Snoring on my back with CPAP
In addition to staying off your back and raising your minimum pressure, I'd suggest increasing EPR to 3. That means DS's suggestion of 12 might be preferable to the 11. The EPR gives you a little pressure boost each time you inhale, and that might help with the snoring and accompanying flow limitations.

Thanks for the suggestions. I bumped the pressure upto 12 last night and slept ok.
May I ask what you are referring to to make these suggestions from my sleepHQ results? I don't really understand what it all means tbh

The roller coaster nature of the pressure trace.

Re: Snoring on my back with CPAP
And you can see how clearly it parallels both the flow limitations and snores. Those should be prevented by the minimum pressure setting.

Re: Snoring on my back with CPAP
Reporting in from last night with a starting pressure of 12. Got to sleep ok but it was fairly disrupted with a lot of tossing and turning. Did a massive burp when I took the mask off and feeling bloated this morning and googled and learned about aerophagia lol. No complaints from the wife about snoring but not feeling great either.
I feel like I was having deeper sleeps at lower pressures. I should also probably mention I am recovering from a cold but I generally breathe through my mouth anyway and use an airfit F10 mask.
When is it worth looking at results or playing around with min pressures again?

Re: Snoring on my back with CPAP
if you can tolerate the aerophagia, give it another two days and then post charts.
