It was my understanding that users whose insurance is paying for their machines pay a sum less than the complete amount of the unit based on a percentage of the machine cost stipulated by their insurance. (Some even pay nothing!)
Now I'm being told that a Bipap ASV unit is no longer purchased at all, but only rented, and the user has to pay a monthly charge-- into perpetuity (i.e., until they, or the machine, dies).
Is this now the way the machines are handled/provided?

It is that way with some insurance companies. Now I'm being told that a Bipap ASV unit is no longer purchased at all, but only rented, and the user has to pay a monthly charge-- into perpetuity (i.e., until they, or the machine, dies).

Seems like a lot of Medicare Advantage plans have gone from 13 month capped rental to forever rental. I know mine has.
And it's not limited to ASV machines either.
