Does anyone get stuffy nose at night. Have ResMed with water tank? During the day nose bleeds.

I was going to say turn down the humidity if your nose is stuffy, but then you mentioned the other problem and I wanted to say try more humidity! Sorry can't help, though if you'd posted on your July 28th thread there might have been some info to help it make sense, but can't find it now... ??

It is a fairly common problem. Some of us use nasal sprays and rinses (NeilMed neti pot for example) to help keep things open.

Nose bleeds during the day may be related to not enough humidity. I use a heated hose, humidity at 5 out of 8, and temp at 81. I have not had issues with nose bleeds once I set my humidity up to 5.

Also, please put your equipment info into your profile so folks know what you are using.
Sometimes it is the very people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one imagines

The humidity alone prevented me from having the dry, itchy nose
that I had all the time before cpap.
I suspect an allergy . . . I wish you well in finding a solution.

What humidifier setting are you using?

Are you using a heated hose? If so, what's the temperature set for?

Are you living in an area where you've already got your central heat on during the day?

Did you have problems with daytime nose bleeds and/or a night time stuffy nose before you started CPAP?

The ResMed Dudes wrote:For many sleep apnea patients, congestion is a regular occurrence, not to mention an annoyance. More often than not, it is caused when you don’t have sufficient humidification with your positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy.--https://www.resmed.com/en-us/sleep-apne ... ongestion/
The CPAP.com Dudes wrote:Breathing in the continuous flow of air from your CPAP machine can easily dry out and irritate your nostrils and can occasionally even cause a nosebleed for some individuals. As a response, your nasal passages may be trying to create a barrier of protection by producing excess mucus, which can lead to equally-irritating nasal congestion.

. . . Try a higher humidification setting or add an insulated cover for your hose, heated tubing, or a soothing nasal spray to your care routine. . . .

Here are a few tried and tested solutions for bringing relief to dry and irritated nasal passages:

Heated Humidifiers
NasoGEL
Heated Tubing
Sinus Rinse

If you’re still experiencing issues after trying these recommendations, you may need to visit your ENT . . .
