Hi All, occasional visitor Captain Midnight here with a problem and a solution that you might find useful, or at least interesting.
Background: I've been an xPAP patient since 2005, I travel a bit, and I've never forgotten to bring any of my xPAP kit when on the road.
Until yesterday.
I somehow neglected to bring my headgear for my PR Comfortgel nasal mask. OMGosh, what to do? How can I secure my pap mask to my face for the night? (It was a Sunday, and no DMEs would be open where I was staying overnight.)
After some thought, I drove to a local drug store (Rite Aid) and bought a few rolls of wound wrap (aka self adhesive bandage). It looked like heck , sort of like a head injury wrap, but it worked just fine. I was able to secure the nasal mask to my head with the stretchy, self adhering bandage wrap. No leaks throughout the night, and it was only modestly uncomfy. (If you ever need to try this, keep the bandages away from your eyes and the excurrent vent from the mask.)
So, if on your travels, your headgear turns up missing, get a few rolls of wound wrap (or sports wrap) stretchy stuff. It might work for you as it did for me.
Or, just double check your gear before you travel.

Re: Traveling and forgot headgear - solution worked
Necessity is a mother--yeah!
On leaving for a professional symposium, I forgot my hose management device.
Solution: a quick trip to the nearest dollar store for cheap duck tape and hair scrunchies.
The tape stuck to the motel "headboard", and I chained the pony ties to length.
The motel property cleaned off easily with no residue.
(I also found cheap eats for my stay.)
