Neck brace and full face mask

Post by SeaPappy » Mon May 01, 2023 4:50 am

I am getting ready to have cervical surgery, and while fitting and getting used to the cervical collar I will have to wear for too long it dawned on me "How am I going to get my full face mask straps around this?". Any suggestions? Thanks!!
When I woke up this morning my girlfriend asked me, 'Did you sleep good?' I said 'No, I made a few mistakes.'

Quite a few people here routinely use a cervical collar (smaller, softer than what you will probably have tho') to keep their heads from falling forward when sleeping and cutting off their airways... or is the overall size that worries you?

And/or you could ask your doctor about it... poss. the Respiratory techs in hospital could come up with a creative fix to help.

Is it a rigid or soft cervical collar? Is it safe to take it off to put your mask on?

The mask goes on first as usual. Then the collar goes on. I wear a soft cervical collar every night.
