Hello
2 weeks ago started to use supplemental oxygen at night, 2 liters as prescribed. Oxygen concentrator (AirSep, model VisionAire 5) tube connects to CPAP tubing. SPO2 improves to 97-98 percent with mask on, but drops back to my usual 91-92 percent when mask removed. Sleep and daytime energy a bit better.
2 issues so far are
a) noise from concentrator, it is much louder than CPAP humming - it seems have to get used to it
and
b) concentrator is bulky, awkward to take on holiday trips.
Thinking about buying portable concentrator - so far found Imogen (around 3-4 grand), Philips about half cheaper. Any experience with those? Is Imogen worth paying double? Any other good reliable brands?
Thanks

Re: O2 concertator to use with CPAP
I have a Inagen for home. It weighs about 18 lbs.,is very quiet and travels well in my RV. I have a 50' O2 tubing and I set the machine outside my bedroom.

The tubing allows you to put the concentrator as far away as you need.
(Within reason, of course)

Re: O2 concertator to use with CPAP
I asked a friend who studied this in detail and also got some professional help before buying. He said Imogen is top of the line. But, he found another company who is cheaper and makes machines that use Imogen parts. He even suspects the machines may be made by Imogen and marketed at lower prices. He is very happy with his purchase - https://oxygo.life/oxygo-next

Thanks for advice! Had a look at this concentrator, it's good, but delivers pulse flow, my understanding for use with CPAP flow should be continuous. Is this correct?another company who is cheaper and makes machines that use Imogen parts
Re: O2 concentrator to use with CPAP
It is my understanding as well.
Pulse flow would be fine for daytime/awake use but for use with cpap everything I have ever seen points to added O2 needed to be continuous.

Correct, that concentrator would not work with CPAP.
