Hey fellow CPAP users,
I hope you're all doing well! I'm reaching out with a rather perplexing issue I've experienced a few times lately with my Resmed Aircurve machine. I bought this unit earlier this year 2nd hand. Based on the serial number, it is a 2016 machine, but had very low hours when I bought it(less than 100 i think).
Here's the problem: I've noticed that during the night, my CPAP machine mysteriously turns off, causing me to wake up out of breath. When this happens, I'll reach for my mask and find that there is no air blowing through the vents(full face mask). It's quite scary and definitely not how I'd like to wake up in the middle of the night!
Upon checking the machine's display, I've observed that it does show therapy time registered from when I initially went to bed to shortly before the time I woke up. It's as if the CPAP machine simply shuts off on its own.
I've tried troubleshooting this issue on my own by ensuring that the power cord and connections are secure, cleaning the machine, and checking for any obvious signs of damage, but the problem persists. I also made sure the "auto on/off" feature was set to off, which it was. This issue is not only affecting my sleep quality but is also a concern for my overall health.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem with their CPAP machine? Any insights, advice, or suggestions on what might be causing this and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. I'm not quite sure where to begin, so any guidance you can provide would be a huge help.
Resmed Randomly Shutting Off at Night
Re: Resmed Randomly Shutting Off at Night
Before you go to bed tonite turn it ON without putting the mask on. Sit and wait to see if it shuts off.
IF it does check your settings again.
