What is the most recent APAP released

Post by meister » Tue Mar 15, 2005 11:25 am

Is the PB 420e pretty "new" on the grand scheme of things
or is the REMStar Auto "newer"? Thanks.

My understanding is that the Spirit S8 (aka Escape) is the next
APAP to be released.

That should be REMStar auto with C-Flex as the recent one; "regular" REMStar autos (which I just got; little choice because of insurance/DME and not wanting to pay anything out of pocket) have been around for a while.

"Spirit S8 (aka Escape)" ?

I thought "Pioneer" was the name of the still-far-off-in-the-future ResMed Autoset S8.

And "Prime", I think, is the name they've given their yet-to-be-released-but-will-come-sooner-than-the-auto cpap in the new S8 line.

But... "Escape" escapes me?? I finally googled for "resmed S8 escape" and darned if it didn't turn up this:

CPAP News Letter - Issue: 16

Johnny, which is it? "Prime" (as the name for the straight cpap) or "Escape"? Is there yet another S8 besides the Prime and the Pioneer in the works that we haven't heard about?

this is the one I got. I mainly got it for the apap feature, and small compact size for travel, and also the H20 humidifier which sits underneath, takes up less space (even tho' it ''eats'' water on a low setting). I have no real problems with it. I can't speak for the other apaps.

Don't forget my recommendation is based on my personal exp. only. NOT A DR, not a DME, not an RT, or anything much else these days!!
