is there a more flexible hose for the Air Sense 11 ?
is there a more flexible hose for the Air Sense 11 ?
I am looking for a more flexible hose for the Air Sense 11. I feel is like wrestling a snake all night! Any suggestions?
Re: is there a more flexible hose for the Air Sense 11 ?
There are 2 choices. The larger heated hose or the more flexible non-heated slimline hose.

There is a third choice.
SleepWeaver Feather Weight Tube, that I have been using for years.
It is 18" long and attaches between the heated hose and the mask. It is intended for use with the Sleepweaver cloth masks, but works great with any mask that does not come with a similar hose. They are available from our sponsor as well as Amazon.

Sometimes, DME's swap slimline hose for standard hoses. Crapria did that to me when the Kaiser prescription specified slimline. I don't even see any difference on retail price that would help their bottom line revenue, so I don't know why they pulled that trick. Slimline is a little more flexible and lightweight than standard. But the kinks where it was folded in the package seem to be forever.
You might try hanging your hose so it's out of your way. I jury-rigged something that works well for me from a wall-mounted lamp. I use a lightweight clothesline pulley and an elastic headband with some counterweights so it moves with me. I've been using it for many years with no problems--at first I was worried it would pull the lamp off the wall, but it's been fine for more than a decade.
Some people simply install a Command Hook on the wall and thread the hose through something elastic (you can buy multiple thin elastic headbands at the Dollar (and a quarter) Tree. You can even do this when you travel, because the Command hooks come off the wall (or headboard) cleanly--use common sense on delicate surfaces like high end wallpaper, of course.
Look for "hose managers" on CPAP.com and google it, there are a variety of options to buy as well--or you can get get ideas to make your own.
My mask (Dreamwear) has the hose coming out at the top of my head, and I love that--it's never in my way with the hose management system I've come up with.
