F&P Vitera mask broke....

My full face F&P Vitera mask broke when I was fiting it a few nights ago!

It broke at the top of the rigid plastic frontal back bone piece where it clips to the headgear plastic piece on ones forehead.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

The bummer is one can not purchase just this piece without a cushion...unless I was mis informed by the supplier.

I do have a brand new complete mask and head gear but I am trying to get maximum use out of the current headgear, mask and cushion and its comforting to have a spare set.

Meantime...I have fudged a repair of the broken one by medical tape binding the connection. Works great.

sidenote - I should not complain too much about having to buy a new set because I hold a few shares in F&P Healthcare.

What size? I found a medium at Amazon for 67.99.
It is offered without a cushion but not easy to find.

I can't tell from the images if it includes the cushion or not.

That piece is fragile... best thing is that you really want that part loose, bottom tight, top loose... should be able to fit two fingers between the frame and your forehead... so tape is good enough. The cushion inflates to make the seal.

But once you've discovered how fragile it is you'll never break another, right? That piece can go in the trash and pull out your spare frame.

Us Vitera users need to know that the Simplus gear/straps will fit and are a much better option for the higher pressures (over 15) bi-level may require. The stock gear was cutting into my head-flesh, the Simplus is much better about this... and is cheap on Amazon, 16$.

I will follow up further... those deals are far better than what I can achieve here ..in New Zealand ( Ironically F&P is a NZ Company) !..go figure.

Shame one cant buy the all the components separately.

The piece that broke is actually the last piece that I thought would need replacing.
