CPAP that will work without humidifier
CPAP that will work without humidifier
Hi All. Looking for a CPAP machine that will work without the humidifier attached. I cannot tolerate the humidity in the machine and I find machines like Resmed Airsense 10 do not provide as much pressure with that giant tank attached. I always used a system one without the humidifier attached and now am using a refurbished dream station because I just don't do well on the resmed. I'd like a new machine that not involved in creepy recalls but I am not sure what to do. Any ideas?

Re: CPAP that will work without humidifier
I warmly recommend that you get a ResMd Airsense 10 Autoset machine. You can buy a side panel to replace the water tank, yielding a more compact unit.
The presence or absence of the tank won’t affect your pressure, but there are plenty of good reasons to change machines.

Oh thank you! Had no idea there was a side panel! I will order one and see how that goes.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have no idea what the difference is, but my breathing was awful on the resmed airsense 10. Not sure if it's the output settings or giant space for air to flow or what. I just did not do well on it. I will try with the the side panel. Seems like health care is trying to make me worse. Took away my good cpap, took away my thyroid meds. I am struggling.Miss Emerita wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 6:58 pmThe presence or absence of the tank won’t affect your pressure, but there are plenty of good reasons to change machines.

I have a side panel for my 11. It's handy, and it wasn't expensive.
currently trying airfit N30 (not i)

In the meantime, you can turn the humidifier temperature to the minimum (i.e. off), and leave it in the machine, waterless.
The "giant volume" has nothing to do with what you're feeling as lack of pressure.
Get an SD card, insert it in the machine, keep it there the whole time, read the first very announcement on the list (the one about what to do if you want advice) then share you night's data with us, and maybe we can help you breathe and sleep better even with this different machine.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

If you still believe the air volume is having an effect, put several ping pong balls inside the tank.

Re: CPAP that will work without humidifier
As far as I know, all CPAP humidifiers can be set to off (or zero) and used without water.
The Dream Station 2 does not allow you to detach the humidifier. The Dream Station 1 does, but it's very noisy if you do that. In any case, I will not be using another Philips CPAP, as the scale and scope of the recall has shattered my confidence in that brand beyond repair!
