Costochondritis and cpap solutions?

Post by dustinwillis1983 » Sun Jul 21, 2024 3:41 pm

Hey, I'm 40, 6'4 and 223lbs. When I was 35, I kept lifting heavy rocks that I could barely lift and one day had severe pain in back and right rib cage. My esophagus started to spasm uncontrollably for a few weeks which caused horrible chest pain right in the center of my chest.

I had a lot of testing done and the doctors believed my chest area it's just strained, besides some degradation of my L3 and L4. They were gonna scope me, but after lying down on light duty for a month, my symptoms vanished.

Fast forward to when I'm 39. I start to feel this weird sensation in my forehead, nasal cavity area and one day wake up with a migraine and extreme vertigo, it's like I was hammered drunk. I started waking up with blood all over the pillows and out of the blue. They ruled out stroke, and think I had a blood clot which came out of my nose some time later. Then the bleeding stopped. My neurologist discovered I had moderate obstructive sleep apnea, 26 events. I got the cpap, and when I used it the one night, 's like 4 years prior with horrible 10 of 10 chest pain in the very center middle and my esophagus started to spasm again every few minutes, like a hiccup. It went away after a week gradually. Occasionally thought the years, I get very slight discomfort in the sternum / right rib cage when lifting heavy but it goes away quickly. Also found out through all my tests, I had a deviated septum.

I still get headaches, so I'm thinking about trying the cpap again, even though I used it on the lowest setting. Is it possible to have an even lower setting to not aggravate my costochronditis? Would my only viable option be inspire?

I would first get a second opinion from another ENT or neurologist before experimenting more.
