Lessons learned on the Philips Respironics CPAP/BiPAP,APAP recall ending August 9th, 2024: free device + $150/$250/$350

Note that they never asked me WHEN I bought the machine (even though some of the terms depend on that date).
Also note they never asked me WHO paid for the machine (even though, again, some of the terms depend on that).

I post this thread to help others as the recall process ends on August 9th, 2024 (AFAIK).
Here's what I've learned having gone through the process myself (so that others may benefit from what I learned as this is time-sensitive information).

The machine has to be received by Philips by August 9th, and then the check will be cut (no checks are sent out until August 9th, 2024, I'm told).
1. You go through Philips to get a free replacement CPAP/BiPAP,APAP machine
2. You go through Angieon to get the $55.63 Device Payment Award (just for giving Angeion your serial number) & the $100/$200/$300 Device Return Award (for sending the machine back to Philips)

1. For the free replacement CPAP/BiPAP,APAP machine.
I found the best support by calling the special Philips line:
1-800-659-9235 (press extension 6 to get a person)
Tell them is you want a free replacement machine.
They will send you a new machine plus the power supply
plus the humidifier; plus a hose and filters, but no headgear or masks or travel case.
But they can't send it to you until they have your prescription.
You must get your prescription from your medical doctor
for Philips to set up that machine before they send it out.
Once you have the prescription, you can email or fax it to:
FAX: 1-331-233-0129 Email: <recallprescriptions@philips.com>
To ask questions, call 888-511-2797 <www.usa.philips.com>
In my case, I returned a BiPap but my prescription is for CPAP so that took a few weeks for Philips to iron out as they sent me a CPAP as a result.[/list]

2. For the $55.63 Device Payment Award & for the $100/$200/$300 Device Return Award (the amount apparently depends on the type of CPAP/BiPAP,APAP machine)...
Look up whether your device serial number is eligible.

. Then get a pre-paid label emailed to you to ship it back.

(If you have the confirmation & case number, that helps a lot!)
This information will be on a snail mail sent to you long ago.)
Box up only the main cpap machine (not the power supply, nor the
mask nor tubes, nor even the humidifier tank - just the machine).
Drop it off at the nearest FedEx drop location or have them come and pick it up.
You can also call the settlement lawyers for help & advice.

While you get the replacement machine right away, you don't get your money until after they receive the machine, and even then, you don't get it until after August 9th 2024.
If I made a mistake, please correct it as this is time-sensitive information for others to get their free machine & payments.

For me, #1 was different in that my DME took care of everything. My DME took my two old machines (on separate dates), I'm assuming that they returned them to Phillips, and supplied me with two replacements. One of the replacements appeared to be brand new (it had all the protective plastic film still intact), it looked brand new and smelled new too. No 'extra' stickers on it at all. The other machine was clearly rehabbed and had the stickers stating such. It didn't have any protective plastic, nor did it smell or look new.
