Keep Waking Up

Post by Jimmy333 » Thu Jan 23, 2025 12:42 pm

Hi all, new to the board and been using Dreamstation Auto-CPAP off and on since 2018 due to obesity. My issues began with tiredness, headache, full head feeling (fog), and I had a sleep study done. My RERA index was elevated but AHI normal. CPAP made a huge difference and if I lose weight I am often able to sleep without it. However, regardless of usage I always wake up multiple times a night and usually go right back to sleep, but can easily average 5-15 awakenings a night (usually after the first 2-3 hrs of deep sleep). My AHI has always been under 5 and often it is HIGHER with the CPAP machine than without it (sleep study AHI). Perhaps I have UARS and not sleep apena but CPAP changed my life.

I use a Dreamstation machine with pressure typically set to 5 (min) - 12 or 15 (max) with Ramp set from 4 for 15 mins. Flex/EPR = 3. I use a heated tube (no humidifer) + ResMed P10 Small Nasal Pillows since I am a stomach sleeper. Recently I feel like I am not getting deep or restful/restorative sleep along with middle of the night and next day headaches and trouble focusing, despite "my normal" sleep pattern (which includes multiple awakenings). No caffeine, alcohol, or drug/supplement use. Attached are some images from SleepyHead. Hopefully someone can help me understand why I keep waking up, even though most days I feel fine and have no bothersome symptoms. I have never woken up gasping for breath, thought the pressure was too high, etc. Thanks in advance.

Can't be a ResMed heated tube because ResMed heated hose won't work with DreamStation. Plugs won't fit.

Apologies. I use a Phillips tube that fits with resmed p10 small and mask type set to OFF. I will adjust my images per the guidance once I'm back on the PC. Thanks
