Just wondering if I could have some advice if possible.
My mother is using a ResMed Lumis 150 VPAP-ST bi-level machine which was prescribed to her after multiple trips to ICU for type 2 respiratory failure with Co2 build-up.
She received her machine in March 2024 and so far it has been doing well for her, no ICU visits since using it

Her pressure settings are 20 IPAP / 10 EPAP if that is relevant info.
We clean her tubing/mask/humidifier tank etc. regularly however I have recently read that ResMed recommends the machines be professionally serviced every 6 months to keep them functioning properly, in which they clean and service parts within the machine that the user cannot maintain themselves.
We were unaware of this and therefore we haven't had this done yet and her machine has now been used every night for 14 months and unfortunately our house has a lot of dust which might not help (I replace the filter about every 2 months for the dust reason).
I have read online that if you don't have the machines serviced their pressures can lower unintendedly over time (despite the machine still displaying the intended pressure on the screen).
Does anybody have any advice on this? Is this machine servicing important and how do you go about organising it, just contact ResMed?
We live in a pretty rural area, it could be difficult for us to organise the machine servicing without her having to go without the machine for a period of time, but I am not sure.
Thank you for any advice
