CPAP Pro reviews?

Post by Babette » Wed May 02, 2007 10:46 am

Sorry, I can't seem to find this via searching. Does anyone have any reviews on the CPAP Pro mask?

http://www.nomask.com/

Contemplating it, but it's 100% out of pocket, so I'd like some "consumer reports" before I go there.

Many thanks!

you know no one has had any success with that interface. If there was "one" interface that people bought and put in a drawer after a week it is that interface.

Ask around, you can probably buy a used one from someone for less than half the price of a new one.

Do a search above and search for cpappro all one word, it should pull up a few posts.

Don't speak for me. I love it. It takes a few days to get it adjusted properly. but then there is absolutely no leaks and no mouth breathing!
I just want to go back to sleep!

In my humble opinion the CPAP PRO is a big waste of money. It is a poorly designed instrument that is hard to get to fit in the mouth. Then the bracket that holds the tubes are mickey mouse and cheap. They will not hold the pillows in a stable position. If you move a little the leaks start and its all to do over again. If you insist on getting one I have one I will give away for nothing but the postage. That should tell you something. If you really want to know how it feels to try to sleep with something sticking out of your mouth and no place to put your tongue try a board about 1/2 inch thick and 2 inches wide. Best of luck to you! Jim

Hi, I bought the cpappro about a month ago. I am just now at the point where I am used to it, and I am pretty happy with it. No more hard plastic tube running down the middle of my (mostly) bald head. No claustrophobia from a mask over my face, which never fit well due to a moustache and beard. I had to pay out of pocket for mine.
I do have a couple complaints about it.
1) It took quite a while to adjust to.
2) It's expensive, and I had to pay 100% out of pocket (thanks, Kaiser)
3) The replacement parts are expensive.
4) The corrugated tubes are very flimsy, and break very easily if you don't handle them right. I went through the 2 pair it came with quickly, and paid $25 for the replacement. I actually ended up calling them to ask how to get them off the plastic connector.

There was one for sale on cpap aution a couple of weeks ago. It didn't end up going for much $$ so maybe check there for a few weeks before forking out that big hunk of change!

Howdy,

CPAP.com's only had 8 people review the CPAP PRO so far. Here's what they said:

I actually owned one of these. It's a pretty unique idea, but poorly implemented.

The drooling DOES stop after a week or so. You get used to sleeping with something in your mouth.

A properly fitted boil-and-bite mouthpiece is the heart of this. And when properly done they literally SNAP onto your upper teeth. They did not ever fall out.

HOWEVER... you can still simply drop your jaw and air escapes out your mouth.

The pillows were noisey, leaky, and they along with just about every other part of this mask were fragile.

Like I said.... a pretty neat idea. But poorle executed.

I have modified/upgraded my cpap pro / no mask. Go to cpapproparts.info to get details.

The sound suppressor cuts most of the hiss and almost all of the draftiness of the exhaust without restriction.

Now I love My CPAP Pro .... and it is quiet & doesn't wake me with leaks around my nose... no marks on my face... WOW

Would help if you'd make clear which are YOUR hoses, and which are the ones that come with the CPAP Pro on that picture.

I find it very interesting how similar those hoses are to the NAII.

For my money, I'd save a buck or two and just get a Nasal Aire II. Less fiddling about with boiling and biting and drooling.

Good luck!

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)
