Weird...why do I have water in my ears in the morning?
Weird...why do I have water in my ears in the morning?
CPAP user for about 3 years with and without humidifier. Just switched to auto m/a-flex. With humidifier set to lowest (1) have some condensation in hose but both ears were very wet. Can ears get wet from too much moisture coming from the nasal mask? I've been up about 8 hours now and my ears are still moist. Did I blow my brains out???
Oh, I do hope not!!Did I blow my brains out???
I have also had some problems since I live in the steamy South. My Dr. said to wet a cotton swab with either alcohol or white vinegar and water (half and half) and swab around the opening of the ear. Said that would help dry up the moisture. It has helped mine.
Blame the dog.
That's what we do in MY house.
Seriously, is it possible you've got a mask leak going, leading water to into your ears? What kind of mask do you have? I can totally see if you are laying down, and the mask has condensation in it, and then the mask leaks, the water can run across your face and into your ears.
Cheers,
Barbara

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

I wish I knew if there is a real problem.
I got a new M Series BiPap in January, after spending 2 1/2 years on the Respironics Tanks set.
That is exactly how I started out with a ear infection that I can't seem to shake.
Family doctor has twice scripted antibiotics, Sleep doctor did it once and now am going to dermatologist with two topic solutions I am putting in ears. I now have inner ear infection which is like having motion sickness.
Get it cleared up. Me........after four months of this, I am going crazy.

I am not a doctor, but I do believe there is a connection between ear and sinuses (when you blow your nose, sometimes your ears "pop", and when you have a cold, sometimes sounds sound "muffled").
Is it possible that too much moisture/condensation in your nose (from the CPAP humidifier) flow in your ear canals when you are laying down?
Regardless, have it checked ASAP, it is very likely that you will develop an ear infection, and that really is painful and debilitating... (been there done that...)

i've been having trouble with blocked ears on and off since i started cpap, sinus related i think...since my septoplasty i've been able to blow my nose for the first time in my life, so now i'm an avid sinus rinser/nose blower (no life, apparently) ...well, earlier in the week while getting ready to go on the hose, i blew my nose so much that i perfed one of my ear drums...just a tiny perforation, but man, is it painful...it's healing slowly but feeling like i'm underwater for the last few days has really given me a headache ...i agree with the previous posters...get it checked out
If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got...

Yes, I have the same problem. Feels like swimming pool water in your ears. Water blows past my sinus into my ears. I've had tonsils and adenoids out and this may make things worse. I just stopped using the humidifier and everything is fine. Good luck.
