Well, you guys have certainly convinced me of the error of my ways, and I am ready to repent. As a token of good faith, I will return one of the Hostaged Posts.
First, for a little background information, this was taken out of the thread entitled, ironically
Keeping Our Wonderful Forum a Great Place to Be
So you deleted someone else's comment because you thought it was offensive, huffed and puffed about being somehow better than the rest of the posters and having some sort of something that made it OK for YOU to censor others, got your hand slapped for doing it, and now you think that returning the post is a "token of good faith?"
I don't know who to feel worse for, you or Paris Hilton.
This is a good example of why some of us want to post anonymously

Not sure why you would think it is gibberish. After reading the threads that are referred to, I think that my comment about SAG's spanking is EXACTLY what happened.

Snoredog said: Regarding CollegeGirl...
I happen to agree with that deleted post, I find it to be quite honest and accurate.
I agree with Snoredog, the deleted-then-restored post seems accurate to me.
I think DSM is doing his bait-and-switch dance again. I wonder when CollegeGirl will join in for some dance-floor time with him?
Snoredog, you are a whole pile smarter than these guys give you credit for.

Time for me to head off into C-FLEX heaven. I'll be back tomorrow to check the wounded-ego quotient. Keep an eye on your blood pressure, dsm and StillAnotherGuest.

Ok, let me first say that when I used the word "jerk" I was not aiming it at anyone in particular. If I inflamed things further I apologize.
I myself am an opinionated woman at times, so I have been drawn into plenty of conversations that I wish had not happened.
I want to get along with everyone. Is that bad? Should I be sitting here trying to figure out whos side I am on? Can I be on both or neither? Can I say that I think it was totaly ok to post an email someone sent you....yet way out of line to leave their real name at the bottom of it? Can I say that the email itself would have made me angry also and that I likely would have responded in a negative way....but that I can see how the person who wrote it got to that point?
I don't want to be on anyone's "side". But I do agree that it is wrong to delete someones post.
I think it is wrong to spoof IP just to come and make nasty remarks on the board without being caught....but I also think it is wrong to accuse someone of doing it if they didn't.
I really don't know what is going on....haven't been here long enough to get all the background. But I do know that I don't want to choose sides against someone. I hope that I can still get the advice and support that I need here from people who I know have far more CPAP experience than I do without fear that in accepting someones help I am alienating another.
Now that I have my big girl panties on......cant we all just get along?

Chuck,
your heart is in the right place - I doubt that few would dispute that, but if you come into this thread knowing that people are dealing with disputes & read the posts here & then post your own contribution, can't you see the ambiguity & folly of doing so ?
All you have done is add your own variant to the stupidity. Most people must know that the issues being dealt here with boil down to some people's rights to insult others versus some people's rights to participate here with some degree of protection from attacks & insults & dishonesty.
So if you want to make a meaningful contribution, please don't post how 'we should all get on' or how 'we should all behave', BECAUSE THAT ISN'T HAPPENING !!! - capice !.
Johny Goodman's original post is wonderfully idealistic and to be applauded BUT as long as the right to free speech includes the right for some members to insult & attack others and drive them away from this forum then the idealistic approach is fatally flawed & Johhny will have to go one better.
So, SAG finally took a stand & deleted some garbage that did no good here. I won't go that far (I lack SAG's courage in that 'make-his-point' deed).
The fact is he showed some moral courage & guess what ? - The perps are screaming like stuck pigs - and behaving like them too.

I just got back from a chocolate pudding wrestling party. Maybe that's the best way to settle this stuff.

I haven't had a post deleted....and don't think I have written one that would have deserved it. So I don't think I would be considered a "perp". Yet I still believe it is fundamentally wrong to take it upon yourself to become the public consumption police and blatantly delete posts that do not belong to you.
Soooooo sorry that I tried to be on both sides....or that I asked if we could all get along. But if you want to comment on it maybe you should just come out and say it to me rather than to chuck who was only agreeing with something I said.
I can not believe you would tell someone on a forum that reading and responding to posts is a folly. But I guess you were to busy adding "your own variant to the stupidity" to think about how that might be viewed.
So sorry that others opinions get in your way. I am sure we will all try really hard not to have or express any of those pesky opinions.
The sad thing is that I actually enjoyed most of your postings dsm. Now my respect for you just dropped a notch. I guess maybe I am to idealistic.

Jennmary,
Sorry but I didn't even see your post in regard to Chuck nor connect it to Chuck's ?
But if you are intent on adding to the stupidity please feel free to do so, so many others have including me
(am happy to take this up via PMs to avoid even further stupidity)
Regards
DSM
PS am really intrigued to discuss via PM the goins on here with someone who joins on Jun 6th & bores right in with guns blazing - an amazing feat for a newbie - pls do PM me - I will answer
