Find out the owner of a phone number?
Find out the owner of a phone number?
Does anyone know of a way to find out the owner of a cell phone if you know their number? I see many sites for reverse lookups for cell phones but they charge almost 100 bucks.
All of the free reverse phone number sites have a fee after you put in the phone number. Anywho.com or whitepages.com or any of that stuff does not work since you have to pay to get a report.
Are there any ACTUAL free ones out there?

good luck ..... we had lots of trouble with a certain number calling us late at night on weekends. The phone companies would not help and the reverse lookup engines did not help either (although I refused to pay the $100 which I figured would go for nothing). One thing I tried was to type the phone number into Google and I got the name of a business! I then reported this to the FCC via their website as an abusive telemarketer and in two weeks the calls stopped.

you can look up phone numbers here
here is a link to a reverse phone directory that gives you basic info for no charge - it is not always up to date tho - but accurate most of time

I don't know about elsewhere, but here in France there's a scam going on where someone rings your cell phone and hangs up right away. If you call the number back, when you get your bill you discover that it was charged much more than a regular call.Anonymous wrote:Can't you just ring them (back) and find out?
So, ring them back at your own risk!

Caller ID doesn't work on cell phone numbers, does it? I've only ever had it come in saying "WIRELESS CALLER," I've never once seen caller ID give the name of the cell phone's owner (the obvious exception being if they called my cell phone and I'd pre-programmed the number, but it doesn't work with numbers I don't already have saved).Patrick A wrote:Caller ID ??

On my cell phone, there is a caller-ID-like feature that works only for numbers I have entered into my phone list.
Be kinder than necessary; everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
