Mouth Tapers - 3M Transpore

Post by Babette » Mon Aug 06, 2007 5:20 pm

Hey all you Mouth Tapers!

RobbieH showed me some VERY COOL surgical tape that she has used successfully for mouth taping - 3M Transpore. It is slightly stretchy, and is sort of perferated for breathability of your skin. I found it here:

http://woundcareshop.safeshopper.com/433/cat433.htm

Googling it, I also found it here:

Thought I'd share this. I may try taping again, if my new and improved chin strap doesn't work out for me.

Yes - I bought lots of fabric to try this project. No, I haven't cut it out or sewn it yet.

Did ya'll expect any different?

LOL,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

I've used that one and have the scars to prove it. I'd stay away from it if it were me. The 3M Micropore is MUCH kinder on your skin than the one you've posted here.

I use the 2".

From what I've seen (heard) on this forum, you might need that size too, Babette.

Really? How sweet! I was certain I'd need at least 3"....

Objects on Forum Appear Smaller Than Actual Size.

Babette - you may be working too hard to find the tape - I can get 3M micropore at any drugstore in Canada (and do), it's not that esoteric as it's used for a lot of other things besides 'us'.

I haven't found it at my local Walgreen's. I'm sure there's a brick and mortar medical supply store here in town carrying it, but it's just not worth my effort to call and/or drive around town. I'm so bad... I order so much stuff on the internet. I'm this close to doing internet groceries...

LOL,
