My wife is telling me that I now occasionally yell in my sleep. Once I was yelling "OW!" repeatedly, and once she couldn't make out what I was saying. After waking up I do not remember any dreams that it could be related to. Does anyone else do this? What kind of problem does it indicate? How do I stop it?
Thanks,
Yelling in my sleep

I used to do it.
It was caused by bone on bone pain. Needed a joint replacement.
In fact, twice I have been through it. Knee and ankle. Both times the pain would make me scream and moan into the mask enough to wake the wife up and not me.
I sometimes wonder what percentage of the time it was pain keeping me from deep sleep. That, RLS, Apnea and how many other things could there be?
I know that since I had the joints installed...........no more screaming into the mask. I am still using the hose/mask though.

It could be from many causes, or a combination. Sometimes it is nerve pains, joint pains, muscle pains or flash aches from poor oxygenation. Have you been checked or diagnosed for neuropathy, fibromyalgia, diabetes, stenosis, osteoporosis and a host of other ailments?
Many people with one or more of those conditions do at times moan, moan loud, yelp, yell or even scream in their sleep. Though, some do not regardless of the severity of their ailment(s).
Or, it could be, as Snoredog and MartiniLover said, from still other causes.

Yelling in my sleep
Hi,
According to your given details definitely I can say it’s indicating stress. I found DermaSleep 1 year ago when I was suffering the same problem. I used DermaSleep and I got healthy sleep. DermaSleep does work – and without the side effects. I think this is the greatest sleep aid product on the market and I recommend it to anyone who has trouble sleeping. Hope this help you.
Best of luck!!

Take your wife to an ENT surgeon. e must be having sinus or deviated septum which causes blockages in the nose. This can be cured. I am also having similar problem My wife snores. I got used to it now. I wake up only when she does not snore to check whether she is breathing or not.

I wouldn't go to a butcher, talking and yelling in your sleep is generally harmless, it is a REM Behavioral Sleep Disorder (RBD), falls under the same category of sleep walking, talking etc.ShirleyDriscoll wrote:Take your wife to an ENT surgeon. e must be having sinus or deviated septum which causes blockages in the nose.
