ResMed Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask

Post by Severeena » Sun Aug 19, 2007 2:38 pm

My husband uses the Ultra Mirage full face mask and he is having difficulty with the head gear.

He is getting sores on the back toward the ears. We wash our head gear once a week.

Last night my hubby decided to tie a handkerchief around the one side of the head gear. It seemed to help.

I am wandering if anyone has experienced this problem and what you have used to remedy the problem

Severeena,

I've been using the Ultra Mirage full face mask for almost a year now and I don't clean it very often but I haven't had this problem. Could it be on too tight?

I don't know if this would help, but if you check out Karen's site http://www.padacheeks.com or communicate with her via pm (she's padacheeks in this forum), perhaps she could help.

Good luck & keep us posted on how it's going.

France

I too have Ultra Mirage and have not cleaned the head gear. In my case I do not have to have it very tight to get a seal and it leaves no marks. One thing for sure is that a mask that works well for some may not work at all for another. I hope that you find a solution, no one should be in pain due to the interface. Regards

If you go to the lightbulb or the red question mark at the top of the pages you'll find all kinds of cool info there.

In the CPAP FAQ, under the Lab Rat Awards I found the following link:

viewtopic/t15104/LINKS-to-Lab-Rat-Trophy-awards.html

Find your mask type on RG's list and check out the fixes, modifications etc. that others have made -- most have pictures (I believe pictures are a requirement to be awarded a lab rat award)

It may be he needs to try a different mask -- they are very individual.
Check it out -- and Good Luck!!!!!!

cheers

The correct website is http://www.padacheek.com or just PM padacheek. If Karen doesn't already have something to remedy this, I'm sure she will be able to develope something for you that will work.
