I haven't gotten my machine and mask yet, but I have been looking on the board investigating cleaning methods.
I have read a lot about dishwashing liquid and baby shampoo, but I have sensitive skin, and I would like to disinfect the mask. CPAP.com has a home care kit, Control III Disinfectant CPAP Cleaning Solution. Is this stuff good? I kind of thought that it might be overkill. It kills germs related to AIDS, gram + and - bacteria, fungi, Pseudomonas, Influenza, Staphylococcus, Salmonella, E. Coli and Herpes.
It seems that Control III might be good if for some reason I have to share a mask, which I don't foresee happening. And I don't have any of the diseases listed.
Would I just do better using the dishwashing liquid or shampoo, or is the more thourough cleaning okay?
Control III Disinfectant Cpapa Cleaning Solution OK?
I agree with your assessment of Control III being more for mask sharing purposes. It might be helpful (though I honestly wouldn't bother myself) if you had a cold and wanted to make sure you had killed the cold germs. I have sensitive skin as well, and I use Johnson's baby shampoo (lavendar). Generally speaking, products made for babies are good for sensitive skin.
