Polident strips - Where ?

Post by Sleepdeprived » Tue Oct 02, 2007 3:40 pm

I have taken to taping lately because of a small but persistent amount
of mouth leakage

I do not particurly like it and have been thinking about using polident strips
instead but I cant find them anywhere. I have tried Walgreens, Wallmart, CVS and Kmart and Publix all to no avail

Anyone know where I can find them ?

I bought mine at Publix - in the toothpaste section - they are in a little box and kinda hard to find - I'd ask. They work great for me - box of 48 is about 5.00. I took someone else's suggestion and cut them in half.

Hope you can find them!

BTW they are "Super Poligrip" Comfort Seal Strips

I just bend them slightly into a "V" shape to match my lips, wet both top and bottom lips with my tongue and press lips together.

Drugstore.com

I cut them in half lengthwise. One strip is too wide for me, but half is perfect. Much better than taping...

Hi sleepyred

Are they Polident or Poligrip strips ?

I have seen poligrip strips at Wallgreens but they are too narrow to cut in half

Ok thanks

I found poligrip strips at publix. They look too small to cover all of my lips. I guess just centering them is enough to keep the lips shut

Yeah, I have gaps at either side of my mouth but it stays shut just the same. Some cut them in half and use one on each side so the gap is in the middle. (I guess that would make it easier to use a straw!) Some cut them in half lengthwise, so for complete coverage you could use one narrow half on each side. And some cut a small v-notch at the center before bending them into a V.

Me, I just like to keep them on the nightstand and grab and go, so the easiest is to bend them without any cutting. The best part about strips is all you have to do to get your mouth open is - open your mouth! And the cleanup is as simple as wiping it off with a kleenix.
