Headrest/Rubber band trick

Post by TossinNTurnin » Mon Feb 04, 2008 12:30 pm

Hi,

I was trying to use the rubber ban trick last night, and the rubber bands kept slipping off.

Did anyone else have this problem?

Maybe I misunderstand the directions and am not putting them on right?

Or maybe the rubber bands I'm using need to be thicker?'

What I'm doing is this:

I loop the rubber band behind the plastic piece that controls height adjustment. Like this:

Then I take both ends of the rubber band pull it up and put it around the top plastic piece next to the hose.

Now it's said "If you tuck it securely around the top plastic piece, it will not move and stays put." But they are not staying put for me. I get one band put in place, and as I'm putting the other one one, the first one slips off. Or if I manage to get both on, the second I try to put the headgear on... one or both slide off.

Wondering if anyone else has run into this.

Tossin..........

I'm using Velcro instead of rubber bands. PM me with your regular e-mail address and I'll send pictures of all the mods I've done to my Aura.

I had that problem. Solved when I looped the rubber band through itself, pulled the large loop till the smaller one tightened, and the pulled only the one, large loop, to the top.

The rubber bands I used were size 33.

And they had to be changed when they became weak....

Yeah, I think the ones I had were too thin. I found a couple of others that were wider/thicker and that seems to be a little bit better, but I'm still concerned about them slipping off in the middle of the night. But so far so good.

I did try the pulling the large loop through the smaller one, but that seemed to have little effect on the mask as there wasn't as much tension. Maybe they were longer than yours.
