Hello Folks,
I am a new member on the forum. I was diagnosed almost a year ago, and have learned so much valuable information by reading this awesome forum. Thank you so much for sharing, caring, and contributing your time and expertise!
Would someone please answer this question.. What does "90% pressure" mean in the smartcard data and the auto/m machine data, when used as an indicator, and how should I be using this information?
For instance, when I sleep at a range of 11min-16max pressure, the session's data usually says "14." Would someone please explain what that means.
(My AHI is usually around 2.1, down from 60 at diagnosis, and I feel so much healthier. It's a beautiful new world, thanks in big part to CPAP therapy.)
Thank you very much.

Welcome to the forum.
The "90% pressure" refers to the calculation that you spent 90% of the night AT OR BELOW that pressure.

Thanks, and a new question
Hi, Thanks for your responses and for welcoming me.
Would someone please answer another question. When I see "90% pressure" was 14, I have usually been setting the range 10-16. I like min10, because it feels more comfortable (and I sleep more soundly without waking up) than a stronger pressure such as min12, however, I have been wondering,
would it be beneficial to set a range with the minimum higher than 10 (such as 12) for any reason? Could it result in a lower AHI? I don't understand these types of concepts yet.
Thank you,
Twilightcat

In a one-word answer......"Yes" (or at least, "probably").Twilightcat wrote:Hi, Thanks for your responses and for welcoming me.

It also depends on what is driving your pressure upwards. Is it hypopnea and apnea events or is it snoring and leakage?
If it's snoring and leakage, then "maybe not". If it's hypopneas and apneas, then "Yes".
Having the software to see what's happening while you're sleeping is invaluable.

Thank you Wulfman
Thanks for your informative response Wulfman. I'm not sure what is driving the pressure up, but I'm going to study the software. I just received it yesterday, and I find it very user-friendly, and offering me much more information than my apap screen.
Thank you very much for your guidance.
