The range offered is 100 to 900.
IPAP is 13, EPAP is 7, Cycle and Trigger Sensitivity are both Medium, Ti Maximum is 4 and Ti Minimum is 0.5
What do you suggest for the Rise Time setting? And just what in the devil is Rise time anyway?

In a nutshell, it's how fast the machine starts to deliver the full inhale pressure when you start to breathe in.
A short rise time can feel like an abrupt jump from EPAP to IPAP.

I liked a very long rise time when I tried various rise time settings. Actually I like the smoothness of "Bi-Flex" instead of setting a "Rise Comfort" time, when I use the BiPAP Auto.
However, I'm using "bilevel" for comfort -- not because I actually need a bilevel machine for treatment of my plain vanilla mild OSA.
StillAnotherGuest explains more about "rise time" and how there can be treatment issues for how to set it. It's not just a "comfort" setting in some cases.

Risetime is an important setting.
The numbers you are seeing are the milisecs (ms) that risetime will take to transition from epap to ipap.
setting of 100 = 100ms (quick) & setting of 900= 900ms (long)
If you set risetime to a slow setting (say 900ms), you are cutting off some of the airflow (tidal volume gets reduced) and this can reduce the effectiveness of the therapy - if risetime is to quick (100ms) it can feel like air is being force down your throat (most Vpap SV users will know exactly what I mean ). Also a fast risetime can trigger hypocapnia due to artificial hyperventilation (which can be caused by a quick risetime and too high an ipap).
Hope this helps

Bless you yet again, DSM. Yeah, after reading thru the links RG posted which had quite a bit of info from you in them I realized that I am not yet ready to play around w/this darn bi-level's settings.
I'm doing well w/it in auto mode so why fix what ain't broken? The way she's set now is soooo easy breathing!
Except - I still think a slightly lower EPAP will reduce my "lip flutters". I'm gonna stick w/leaving her in auto mode but reducing EPAP to 7 and IPAP to 12 for a week and see "wha' hoppens".
The software suggests 12.8 and 8.8 but has never hit more than 11 IPAP Maximum so I "think" the "lip flutters" are what have driven the 12.8 and 8.8 calculation suggestion. It supports what I thought I was seeing w/the Elite and the Vantage. Of course I tend to be conservative and cautious w/medical treatment so ....
