How to remove smoking smell from CPAP?
How to remove smoking smell from CPAP?
Just returned from a short stay in a hotel. The only room available was a smoking room. Now, my Respironics Auto Pro CPAP has a lingering smoking smell associated to it coming from the mask. I washed the mask and hose, but the smoking smell still remains.
Any suggestions on how to remove it?
Thanx

Re: How to remove smoking smell from CPAP?
Better to replace the filters if you have them. Take it from an ex-smoker, removing the smell is tough and takes time. Have a place to hang the mask & hose outside? Run the machine outside for awhile too? Remove your card 1st. Use some pursleep if you have it.
It either gradually wears down or you get used to it.

Ditto to everything I'm the lady with the skunk smell - finally gone from mask - I did all of the same things - best wishes and good luck.
Re: How to remove smoking smell from CPAP?
On another thread today, the user tried a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol in the air intake and ran the machine.
You might try that.
Cheers,

Re: How to remove smoking smell from CPAP?
Get some of SleepGuys Essential Oils, put a tiny amount on the intake foam filter that should clean it out.
as den mentioned, wash the foam filter and if you have a replacement fine filter replace it, it is impregnated with charcoal and may be trapping the smoke smell.
I wash my masks in Dawn Citrus liquid hand soap (antibacterial kind), it leaves a nice citrus smell in the mask. I have used it several years, it works pretty good.
