Its dried saliva. How's your Leak rate? You're probably having some "lip flutters".

Mouth taping or FF masks are the answer, leaking isn't doing the treatment well. Jim

Mouth taping or a ffm may be two possible answers but certainly are not the only answers. Adding a pap-cap 2 to my swift LT was all I needed to achieve a flat leak line on my nightly graphs.

The pap-cap is a type of chin strap - http://www.pur-sleep.com/products/produ ... category=6

I must have an earlier version of the pap-cap 2 as it does not have the extra velcro traps sewn into the back. The way I use it with the LT is to place the cap on my head and be certain to get the rear straps fairly tight, then I put on the LT leaving the straps fairly loose and then I attach the chin strap to the cap. Takes less time to actually do than it took to type it out. What happens is the head gear for the LT tend to catch on the velcro straps on the cap and with the chin strap on top of the head gear, the nasal pillow isn't going anywhere regardless of how much I toss at night. So the nasal pillows remain sealed and at least for me, the slight upward pressure of the chin strap is enough to keep my jaw shut and my tongue firmly pressed against the top pallet.

Be sure to set your machine to recognize that you are using a swift nasal pillow and it should adjust your leak reading automatically. If you are getting a leak reading above 0 with the machine set for using the swift, either the pillows are leaking and/or you are mouth breathing.

Congratulations, MDPooch, and Merry Christmas!!!

I was up until midnight wrapping presents last night and am enjoying a peaceful, beautiful Christmas morning w/hubby and a roaring fire in the fireplace. About 3-4 PM either my daughter and her family will be coming over here for dinner and presents or we'll load everything up and go over there. My oldest granddaughter had knee surgery the 23rd and the Vicodin isn't agreeing w/her so she's relying on ice packs and ibuprofen and it will all depend on how she is feeling about 3 PM where we spend Christmas. Hubby has T-bone steaks to prepare w/all the trimmings for a late dinner here or there. We'll be talking to my son and daughter-in-law in Arkansas and my sister and nephew in northern Michigan whilst we are all together here and then the calling spree to hubby's large family back East will begin!!! Life is GOOOD!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
