Resmed S8 Autoset II Quick Set-up Guide

Post by mdbarthe » Wed Feb 11, 2009 2:24 pm

Does anyone have a link for a pdf of the Resmed S8 Autoset II Quick Stet-up Guide? The reason I am asking is because I would like to know if I can set my machine up to display the Pressure, AHI, AI & HI readings on the LCD screen without having to go into the Clinical Menu and go through all the buttons there. Can you just hold down a couple of the keys simultaneously and get that info to display?

Thanks.

You mean.....something like this?

Den

1. Accessing the Clinical Menu

Turn on the device and wait until the standby (RAMP/SETTLING) screen appears on the LCD.
At this stage you can adjust the ramp/settling time.

Press the DOWN and RIGHT keys simultaneously for 3 seconds to access the clinical menu.

2. Changing Options and Settings.

Press the LEFT (menu) key to access the SETTINGS menu screen.

Use the UP and DOWN keys to scroll through the RESULTS, OPTIONS and SERVICING menu screens.

From a menu screen, use the LEFT (enter) key to access the parameters in that menu.

Use the UP and DOWN keys to scroll through menu parameters.

Use the LEFT key to view or change each parameter setting as required.

Press the RIGHT (exit) key until you return to the standby (RAMP/SETTLING) screen.

I've got that information, thanks. What I was specifically looking for was whether or not I could hold down a couple of keys and have the Efficacy Data display on the LCD without having to go into the Clincial menu. I know you can do that with some models with the Smart Data feature, but it won't show your AHIs, etc.

Well, see if one of the autoset manuals in this link will tell you what you want to know.....or, PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send you the "Smart Data" manual in pdf format.

Cannot be done. You can still hold down a couple of keys to access the Clinical menu from which this data can be displayed... it isn't that many keystrokes.

Hi--I have a Resmed ELITE S8--and all I need to do is press the left and right arrow buttons simulaneously for a few seconds and the Efficacy Data will display on the LCD without having to go into the Clincial menu. I do it every morning to check on my stats---

From page 35 of the ResMed Autoset II clinical manual:

b. You may make the Efficacy and Usage Data screens available to your patient
by instructing them to press the Left and Right keys simultaneously. This
does not give access to the other parts of the clinical menu.

...that takes them to the Review menu. Same number of keystrokes as it is to get into Clinical.

I see what you mean. I misunderstood...thought he was trying to go to the Efficacy data without "unlocking" the clinical menu with the Right arrow key and Down arrow key.

Whoops... my apologies. I did not that mean my comments to sound as harsh as they sound when I read them back to myself.

Thanks for the quickset info . I inherited my mothers S8 Escape with very few hours, and needed to verify/set it to 13 for myself. I'm doing a lost of traveling for work and my other unit is much larger - this one is so nice and small (maybe the airport security morons will not hassle me as much now - as I always carry my CPAP with me to insure I can sleep no matter how long my checked baggage is delayed or flight bumped).

However, I now see a few issues that would keep me from buying this model.
1. LCD back light remains on for a few minutes - now I need to get use to a room of green glow. (others kill the light when air is commanded ON)
2. DC battery plug kills AC input/operation and does not trickle charge an attached battery. (others charge the battery using it as a true back up/alternate)
3. Cannot over ride the CPAP start ramping even though I've commanded Ramp OFF. (others only do user ramping)
