Resmed AutoSet II clinical menu settings

Post by bmt22033 » Sat May 16, 2009 3:21 pm

I received my new Resmed AutoSet II last night and just finished setting it up. I bought it from cpap.com so I have the "Clinical Quick Setup Guide" but it's basically just a diagram of the clinical menu options. Can anyone shed some light on what these menu items do?

- SmartStart
- EPR Inhale (in CPAP mode)
- EPR: Settle Only (in AutoSet mode)

Also, does the data card need to be inserted into the machine *before* it will log data? Or does the machine store the data internally and inserting the card later will just copy the data onto the card?

Thanks very much!

Smart Start: If this is on, your machine will start up when you breath into the mask, turn off when you take mask off.
EPR: ON: lowers the air pressure when you exhale making exhaling easier, this may make you feel some what suffocated if your
pressure range is lower for auto mode.
Data Card: Machine will begin to store data without card. Insert card when you wish to upload data to card.
If you have purchased software, just remember, you will only be able to get up to 5 days of detailed data..so you will
need to load data from machine to memory card to computer every few days to keep detailed data.

Have fun with your new machine, and improved sleep quality to you.

Send me a PM with your email and I will send you a PDF of the full clinical manual that explains all that and more. Alternately, you may already have it on CD or DVD rather than a booklet.

Is the offer still open? I'm in the process of getting one (waiting for insurance approval right now), and would love to have the clinician's manual.

Ditto. I'd love to have a look at this manual as well. Is this offer still available?

Gary,

If you have installed the software, there is a manual in a PDF file installed on your computer....

I don't know if this is the same manual as being offered above... I would be interested to know that also.,

Here is where I finally found my manual..... I printed it off, punched holes in it, and now have it right here next to my computer in a 3 ring binder... It has helped me tremendously with the software in the last couple of days along with the folks on here .......

Look here on your computer.

Program Files
ResMed
ResScan3

In the above directory you should find this file:

ResScan Clinician's Manual.pdf

You will need to have Adobe pdf reader installed on your computer to read it. IF you do, just double click that file and print it out from your printer..

Hope this helps....

Lou

If you notice a lake of air on the first 10% of inhale, you may want to set your EPR to 2. The default 3 lowers the pressure on exhale than on 2 or 1.
I found it takes the machine longer to recover on inhale. It feels more natural on 2 for me.
Im still playing around with the settle time. I havent really noticed anything different on those settings.
The default was set to 30min. I set it to 5. I did notice when I set it to zero the machine would act erratically at times providing way too much air and then immediately lowering itself. So I know zero isnt good.

Best of luck.
Phil
