Their are wipes that you can use to wipe your mask down. They are kind of like the baby wipes or the wipes for leather car seats. They sell them on cpap.com and some DME's even have them.

Next to the bed, I keep a small bottle of witch hazel and a container of cotton balls.

I wipe my mask daily with a few drops of witch hazel on the cotton ball. And I also wipe my face with it... great for cleaning the pores, no alcohol.

Additional environmental benefit: Since there's no individual packaging, it's a very low carbon footprint.

I use the Citrus wipes for cpap masks available from cpap.com sometimes. There are 62 in a container, I think. They "pull out" like disinfecting wipes. I pull out a half one, cut it and close the lid on the other half that isn't completely pulled up. To use 1 for anything but a full face mask is wasteful. They are just too big to waste a full one on a nasal cushion or pillow.

They are often for sale on cpapauction.com as well. Sometimes a 2 pack is offered at a good price. That lasts me for a looong time.

I use orange scented Clorox Disinfecting Wipes for my FFM cushions. These are bleech-free, and are much cheaper than the specialty ones for cpap masks--also come in a canister, and smell great. As noted above, I just cut 1/3 of a wipe each day to remove skin oil from the cushion, which I do not separate from the rest of the mask. Then on the weekends, I always wash the entire mask & cushion (without the straps) in a basin with baby shampoo, rinse well, and air dry. For nasal pillow masks, I do wash the pillow every day with the baby shampoo rather than use the wipes. Rinse well, bat the water out, and let it air dry on a clean cloth by the sink. Takes about half a minute.

I've read somewhere that lint blown into your lungs can do terrible and frightening things, so I personally would lean away from cotton balls for cleaning. I'm actually having to return a pack of "lint-free" cpap cleaning towels to RespiClean because they leave a remarkable amount of lint on the mask, clearly visible. (their CS rep said they are looking at replacing this item with something more appropriate).
.........No, people, I promise that I am NOT on another mission!

Daily mask cleaning is simple. I use the Quattro, I pull off the elbow attachment, headstrap, fill sink, add soap, shake mask in water, rinse, done !!! I have a very oily face, so I choose to wash mask daily.
