Nose Hairs

Post by wordlife15 » Mon Dec 28, 2009 2:39 pm

Ok, a bit of an oddball question here I know, but what's the thinking on nose hair - to cut or not to cut? I tend to get quite a bit and so end up cutting it for cosmetic reasons. However, we do have nose hair for a reason - to help filter out all the nasty bugs that we breathe in - so cutting may not be the best idea in the world. Has anyone noticed if having a lot , a little, or hardly any nose hair affects your CPAP? Thanks.

Hadn't given it much tought since I am female, but have seen those with excess nose hair growing out of the nostrils.

Be interesting to see what some of the ones with excess hair do.

I started trimming mine some time last year, I think. But first because the hair was tickling my nose when I breathed. I don't know why I developed a sensitivity inside my nose. I now have to trim it as short as I can otherwise I can't stand the tickling feeling.

I don't think its going to cause any problem- I think there is cilia farther inside (moister too) that catches the pollutants.

I trim mine when it bothers me. I havne't died yet from trimming it either. If it is bothering you then trim it otherwise leave it be unless you want to trim for cosmetic reason.

I was told as a kid, pulling the hairs caused a chance of Cancer. Braiding looks good and gives you a good place to put the Gold Butterfly clips. Nose hairs are there to prevent creepy insects form entering the nose. The cilia (SP?) is farther inside and help flow particles out of the air flow. Jim

I wish they would make a safe pill to de-hair humans, as we age we seem to get more hair in places we don't want or not enough where we do want it. I'd take none as enough, for me.

I swear one of these nights I am going to wake up and catch a hair that is migrating from my head to my nose ears or chest. I will catch it you wait and see.

But really it's a fact we have to deal with. If it is bothering you or your significant other trim it.
