Blue Lights Flickering---M Series Machine

Post by DannyPh » Thu Apr 08, 2010 9:36 am

Last night after about two and a Half Hrs of sleep I had to take the Bathroom Journey and when I returned I noticed that the Blue Lights on the Resprinocs machine were Flickering and making a very low audible beeping sound. I turned on the machine and the flickering continued so I turned off the machine and back on again with the same Results. I then checked the wall plug and the Power cord was loose in the Plug so i Unplugged it and plugged it back in and the Flickering and Beeping ceased. Could this be a Malfunction in my Machine or just possibly a bad electrical connection in the wall Plug ? Thank you.

I'm no expert but my best guess is your plug was loose and arcing slightly, causing your machine to lose power momentarily over and over.

I'd check out the wall socket...or at least make sure my fire insurance is paid up!

If you got a manual with your machine you need to look at the Device Alert section on 5.1. It sounds like it had a problem and you fixed it by unpluging it.

You didn't say if you looked at the LCD? Is there a message there?

The DME (or you) can set a reminder msg that will flash the lite to get you to look at the LCD.

I had a client bring his cpap in for the same reason. His data card was in backwards. On the screen, the little data card image was also flashing, along with blue lights and a low beeping sound. Pull your card out & make sure that it is in correctly....colored side (blue?) facing to the outside of the machine.

Ditto on the card. On my M series if I don't put the card in correctly the lights flash. Kinda like Lassie barking to tell Timmy that something is wrong.

Since the lights were not fllickering before the bathroom trip, I would rule out the card in backwards. But, JOE50 is most likely right on. My lights started flickering one night and I was tired, and not thinking clearly, I did not read the display. Two or three restarts will cleared the message and kept the lights off, and this is probably why your machine returned to normal afgter a few restarts. The reason for my lights blinking was a message that was a prompt to get a new mask. The setup allows for reminders to come on the screen when they have been turned on by the user or the DME.

Was the light blinking on the humidifier? Some of these humidifiers have been recalled and are supposed to be returned if they start blinking.

Yes, if just the humidifier light is blinking, it needs to be checked out - I just went through that and they replaced my humidifier (under warranty).

You did say, "lights", so I presume you are speaking about main machine, but a good reminder none-the-less.

I just had the humidifier light blinking. I called the DME and they sent me a new one within a few days. It is working fine now.
