IntellPAP by DeVilbiss

Post by robertjoy » Fri Aug 13, 2010 7:41 pm

I have been using CPAP machines for 40years and this is my 3rd machine and it is described as a quiet machine and I find it to be exceptionally noisy akin to sleeping next to a jet engine. Does anybody else have one of these machines and do they find them noisy or quiet as I might have bought a lemon or a a defective machine.

My IntelliPAP is very quiet. I have not used it in a while, having used a VPAP Auto 25 for about 6 months, and now a BiPAP Auto SV machine. But I had occasion to go camping for 4 nights last week, and took the much more camping-friendly IntelliPAP. I forgot just how quiet this machine really is. I was able to appreciate all the wonderful night sounds one encounters when camping in the woods. The noise from the intentional mask leak easily swamped out any noise I heard coming from the machine.

So yes, you might indeed have a bad machine.

The one I used was also very quiet.

Make sure all parts are properly connected.

Does anyone know how to offload data from this machine?

Nancy 1 - you can view a summary of efficacy data (AHI, Leak, etc) from an IntelliPAP Standard Plus or IntelliPAP AutoAdjust using the SmartCode feature. Essentially an alphanumeric code will appear on the screen of your IntelliPAP which you can enter into the report generator found at http://www.intellipap.com. This feature is included free of charge on all IntelliPAP devices.

If you want detailed single night information, you would need to purchase the SmartLink Therapy Management System. Please note that the efficacy data is not available on the IntelliPAP Standard.

I have a new IntelliPAP Auto Adjust w/Smartflex, and it is super quiet. I am really unaware that it is even on at night if not for the air coming into my mask. I am very happy with it.....

The SmarkLink software for detailed reports is very easy to use. I have it running on a netbook without any problems.

I thought the first cpap machine was invented by a Dr. Sullivan in 1981. That would only be about 30 yrs ago.....

It should not be noisy at all - have you tried turning off the EPR/flex features (if only to see if that made a difference as it did for me - now on the IP - when I tried out a PR System 1 that was noisy)?
