Ahhhhh! No power cord!
Just venting. I'm on a relaxing weekend away and dutifully packed my machine. The power cord is apparently still in the wall socket at home. Stupid, stupid, stupid! Luckily I have two at-home nights before going back to work, and luckily it's not more than a 3 day weekend. Am propping myself up as best as possible at night. %%^*++%!!
Re: Ahhhhh! No power cord!
Did you remember the power brick, just forgot the cord between the brick and wall?
I read another post like this once where the front desk at the hotel had a lost & found and there were a few 2-pin power cords in there which worked on the post submitter's cpap machine.

My laptop brick cord and $15 ace hardware box fan cords are all interchangable. Got one in travel trailer one, in bedroom, one plugged in in living room, one in cpap travel bag. I'd probably forget the hose! jlk

Unfortunately no brick either. I really appreciate the suggestion. I'm going to rejoin the folks I'm with now and make the best. It is a group of ladies in a rented house in a beautiful area. The weekend will still be a good thing.davecpap wrote:Did you remember the power brick, just forgot the cord between the brick and wall?

Re: Ahhhhh! No power cord!
I'm very tempted to go buy a fan! Actually, don't have my own car here either. I'll be okay, but obviously not as recharged as I'd hoped. I'll be checking out the fan cord idea when I get home.jlk wrote:My laptop brick cord and $15 ace hardware box fan cords are all interchangable. Re: Ahhhhh! No power cord!
Unfortunatly you will still need the brick, I was unaware your machine had it.I wish they made em small and light without having the brick. The brick weighs more than the unit. My Resmed S-9 has the brick but not my old Resmed Escape just uses a cord directly plugged into the back of it. Any of your lady friends have a laptop brick that is same voltage and plug? My laptop brick plug will go into my Escape 12 volt connector but the voltage is wrong. just a thought. jlk

Re: Ahhhhh! No power cord!
The Remstar classic just has a simple power cord, figure-8 end which is common.
While I intensely dislike use of power bricks in general, one advantage for a portable device is not having the volume and weight of the AC>DC power supply internally, though a DC-DC converter may still be needed as electronics chips tend not to be 12volt anymore, most often 5 volt dc.
On the one hand a good mobile CPAP machine would have other design features, for most people DC use would not be common so a combo machine makes sense in that context. (A number of people in this forum uses theirs with a 12vdc battery.)

Re: Ahhhhh! No power cord!
Thanks, all! The perverse thing is that I was properly packed but had to delay leaving until the following morning because of work horrors. So like a good girl I unpacked the Cpap and used it the night before the trip. There was also a point i realized I hadn't packed the cord but got distracted then thought I'd taken care of it Ah, well. I'm a bit tired but still having a good time.
Re: Ahhhhh! No power cord!
Hint: Always pack the power cord first!

Been there, done that.
My solution was to make a checklist of all the OSA items that need to be packed and to dutifully cross off each item as I pack it. Even though I sometimes feel like "I shouldn't have to do this!", I haven't forgotten anything since I started doing it.

I was thinking about a custom bag with a pocket for everything;
but I rather like the case that came with my S9 Elite--(some others do not)
The check list is a very good idea. . .
My problem is getting everything together for the trip HOME!

If you do a lot of traveling...buy an extra cord and leave it in the CPAP bag.

Re: Ahhhhh! No power cord!
It is a good idea to also keep a hose in your case -- they are cheap. I also keep a 12 foot light weight extension cord and a 3-way outlet adapter in my case.

Go to Radio Shack and invest in a second or even third power cord. I usually pack one with my clothing, along with spare hose...just in case.
