My nose skin is dry and flacky and face breaks out

Help!!!!!! My nose is constantly dry and flaky no matter what I use, vaseline, a gel recommend by a pharmacist, face moisterizer, etc.

I also break out all the time no matter if I clean my mask, using face protection and other remedies. I have had my Cpap for 5 years and this starting happening this year. I tried the nostril mask and it did not work and returned to the face mask (covers only the nose).

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I had same problem with dry skin, I bought a tube of LANSINOH as suggested by another post on forum--cost around 10 bucks for a 2oz tube at Walmart--FA

Harry33 no, it does not rub against my nose. I will try sexual lubricant thanks for the suggestion.

Lansonoh worked better for me then KY.

And use the remzzzz's.

Also, the break out stuff was a bacteria issue for me. When I clean my mask, I was just using soap and water, after adding a cup of clorox to the dishpan, then all my problems went away with that.

if it doesn't get better soon -- maybe a check with the doctor OR a dermatologist is in order?

Buy a few red grapes. Each night before you wash your face, cut a grape in half and rub the cut half all over your face, esp the flakey areas. Let sit 3-5 mins...it gets very sticky! Wash face. Eliminates my need for moisturizers at night. Guess if the night-time grape juice (fresh not processed) seems to be working. you could do it in the morning too. My dermatologist thinks my skin looks great (no more cutting off bits thank goodness) and no more rosacea...yippee!

Cheap fix for me...I hope this works for you too!

OH MUSE ------ I WUV YOU!!! I had forgotten about your good red grape advice... if it were not to late and me so tired I'd run out and buy some....but will get some in the morning and use. Thank you. I have dry skin AND ROSACEA and haven't been able to use the Nitrogel or anything on my face since CPAP.

I break out at the slightest reason. Lately it is because of meds and now I have to take more meds to keep from breaking out but not because of my mask anymore because I cut a new tissue liner to fit between my face and mask. Can't stand that silcone feel anyway. I layer standard facial tissues normally two folded in half together and just cut a liner to fit, tape it at top and bottom. It isn't pretty but it is cheap and effective since it absorbs oils all night long and doesn't irritate my face. Tried old T-Shirts and a number of other materials, like paper towels. Tissues are the winner at least for my skin.

Might give that grape thing a try since my rosace is back with worse then ever since changing meds.

Rosacea might be caused or irritated by a certain type of skin mite that is killed by using seabuckthorne soap. I didn't know that when I had rosacea, but if it returns I'd try it.
