login for my.respironics.com

Post by allend » Fri Dec 24, 2010 6:37 am

Anyone have a login for my.respironics.com. I want to get the latest version of Encore Pro. I am in Florida with my bipap auto m, I have the card reader but no software. I would like to have the latest version so that I can transfer my old Encore Pro 1.8 files because I don't want to have to carry printouts between my two locations.

Nothing pisses me off more than not having access to software or card readers. It's the one thing these equipment companies should be shot for and I hope they get blasted with law suits some day because someone couldn't monitor their sleep and ultimately causing them to get into an accident. We have to threaten them with that. I did and I got a card reader from resmed. However, that machine is in NY. We have to go ballistic on these Resmed and Phillips Respironics, two non American companies.

Actually, it's exactly because of your behavior that these companies are VERY leary about letting users have the software. What if a patient changes the therapy, sickens and dies. Will they be sued because the patient changed therapy using the software? And don't say that won't happen.

With the BiPAP Auto M unit (from Respironics), it's actually possible to obtain a fairly inexpensive version of Encore Viewer to track your therapy. Repironics has done the right thing and made a VIEWER version available. You can not change your therapy using that software. It might not be the Pro version, but it is readily available.

Pretty weak argument for not supplying software with the machine IMO. You do NOT need software to change the settings. In fact my DME has NEVER used the software (or my card) to change any settings.

Think of some other reason but changing the sttings is NOT a reason not to provide the software to read last nites data. In fact, I don't even consider it an "excuse". Also the data can and should be displayed on the LCD screen w/o the software then you wouldn't need that BS "you can change the settings".

Might seem like a weak argument, but trust me those discussions DO occur. Having worked for a computer manufacturer most of my career, I can assure you that when hardware and software is proposed and implemented in a healthcare setting, most execs at companies get very paranoid about the risks involved. That tends to be industry wide. It might be a poor excuse, but I am certain it comes to play. Too many hours in too many meetings for me not to think it is not an issue here.

IF "they" were so worried don't you think "they" would have done a better job? Oh it doesn't seem - it is very weak. Do you have Google?
